Finals. Finals. Finals.
That dreaded time at the end of the semester. It gets overwhelming and instense and frankly, we all just wanna forge all our grades and go crawl in a hole somewhere. (Or is that just me?)
Really though, finals get intense and if you are like me, balancing all the end of the year assignmennts, along with finals, other obligations wile still having a social life, can be hard.
Heres some tips to getting through finals
1) Prioritize. Make a list on what comes first over the next two weeks!
For example, I have three papers to write and four finals to take and a project. My History paper is the hardest since its seven pages, so thats on the top of my list to focus on. My math final is my hardest final so that gets second priority. I create a two week calander so that I could proritze the next two weeks. I paced myself to write a page a day for the next seven days. My history study guide is four pages, So I picked four days to work on that. My project can be done in one day if I use my time wisely. So basically I divided my school duties as evenly as possible so I dont go crazy by cramming in one night.
Then we add in our other obligations. We still have to go to school, church, extra activities. But you might not be able to do it all. I wasnt able to attend all of dance class last week because I needed an extra hour to study for my math exam, but I practiced on my own instead later, when I had extra time.
Basically, just becasue you can't make it to church or practice, doesn't mean you let it go. It may be easier to practice soccer at home for 30 minutes, then going to that two hour practice.
2) Make it fun. I bring study snacks with me to the library to motivate me, becuase I am known for cutting my study session short in order to go eat. (True story) or I'll go to starbucks before so I have that boost while studying. You can also reward yourself with other things. For example, every 30 minutes of studying I will allow myself ten minutes of phone time.
3) Connect with others. Grades are super important so you want to make sure your talking to your teachers and making sure your on track. I know it sounds bad, but get your grade before you take the final and calculate what you need to get in order to get an A in the class. Also, study with your friends, ask for help if you don't know something.
4) Put God first. It can be easy to loose track of God during final seasons. Make sure you either start or end your day with quiet time, even if its just 15 minutes.
Hope these tips help!
